Church or Even If You Did.” Week 3

the Answer, What is the Question?” This

practice and for
long-time readers who would like to enliven their current Bible study habits.

Tent City 4 Meals
Bear
Creek United Methodist Church is currently hosting Tent City 4. We have been asked to provide dinner
for the Tent City residents during the month of September. Alice Haines has volunteered to coordinate
this effort, but of course, she needs our help with this outreach effort. September
9 and 28 are the dates available. If
you can help prepare or serve dinner, please sign up after the service with
Alice Haines, Shirley Hirsch or Lael O’Neal, or call the church office at
425-454-2059. Thanks.
The Sophia Way
The
Sophia Way is a program to shelter homeless women on the Eastside. During the week (Sunday-Thursday) the women
sleep at the First Congregational Church here in Bellevue. On the weekends (Friday and Saturday) other
churches on the Eastside host them. We
will be providing shelter and meals during the months of October and November. We need volunteers to provide dinner for 10
women for one evening during these 2 months.
Funds are available to help with expenses. Do you have a book club, organization,
co-workers or neighborhood group that could adopt The Sophia Way women for a day? Please contact Shirley Hirsch, Lael O’Neal or
Betty Bruning to volunteer or answer questions.
This outreach opportunity is being jointly sponsored by the United
Methodist Women and Community Care and Outreach Ministries.
Tent City 4 is now at Bear Creek United Methodist Church and in
need of T-shirts, laundry detergent,
batteries (AAA and D), paper plates, paper cups for hot coffee, hand sanitizer,
trash bags (33 gallon size), toilet paper, plastic knives and spoons. There is a box in the church office for your
donations. Please make contributions
payable to BCUMC and note it’s for TC4.
Questions can be directed to tc4@bcumc.org or to Jim Zimmerman at
425-802-9240. Thanks for helping.

Could you offer someone a ride to church or assist with light household and garden chores? If you are able to share your gifts in any of these ways, please fill out a blessing box card, available on the refreshments table, and return it to Nancy Berry or Phyllis Vigus.
