INTERNATIONAL
Shirley Hirsh was on the summer 2007 Volunteers in Mission (VIM) team that went to Congo to work at the Jamaa Letu orphanage in Lubumbashi, and participate in other projects as requested by the bishop of that region.

NATIONAL
In February 2008, a FUMC Bellevue Short Term Volunteers in Mission (ST VIM) team will make our third trip to the Sager Brown UMCOR depot in Louisiana to restock emergency supplies and help in a variety of ways. A glimpse of the 2006 visit.

LOCAL
The book discussion group meets at the church on the third Monday at 7:15 PM.

The Celebration Singers rehearse Monday evenings at 7:15 PM, and sing once a month at the 8:30 AM service from September to June. The Chancel Choir rehearses Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM, and sings every Sunday at the 11:00 AM service from September to June. Both choirs perform in the biannual concerts.

Christ Care Small Groups nurture spiritual growth and service. Various groups meet biweekly or monthly.

Clara Swain and Isabella Thoburn Circles of the United Methodist Women provide weekday opportunities for service, education and fellowship. UMW conferences and events offer many opportunities to "Think globally, act locally."

With donations from BFUMC and 22 other Bellevue faith communities, every summer the Congregations for Kids Good Start Back to School project provides school supplies for needy children in Bellevue.

On the fourth Monday of each month at 5 PM, dinner is served at Crossroads Community Center.

On the third Sunday of each month, we collect funds for the Emergency Feeding Program, and on the third Friday, we help pack bags of food. Meet at the church at 9:30 AM; we return by noon.

The Bereavement Group meets in the church library at 10:30 AM on the first and third Mondays of each month.

A Men's Bible Study meets at church the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM.

Every Wednesday morning the Wednesday Wonder Workers keep our church grounds and buildings in beautiful shape, and a Women's Bible Study meets from 10 AM to noon (except the second Wednesday of the month).

The Women's Service Group meets at church the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 10 AM to sew layettes for newborns.
